Barbara Sawh, a native of Guyana, emigrated to Canada in 1967 and has had a long term career with the Federal Government of Canada. Barbara has worked in various Departments responsible for employment and/or immigration portfolios. She has been engaged in administering programs relating to employment and refugee affairs, and in more recent years specialized in the Access to Information and Privacy legislation.
Barbara has served as an active member of Serviam Association Canada, an alumni of former students of the Ursuline Order in the Caribbean, for approximately 18 years. This Association is involved in fund-raising activities in Ottawa, and has been increasingly successful in raising funds for needy students in the Caribbean, by holding annual Spring dances. Barbara has been the co-chair of this Association for the past three years.
Barbara is an elder in the Presbyterian Church in Canada, and is very involved in the work and life of the church.
Barbara appreciates good theatre and music, and has developed a passion for gospel music over the last few years.
Born and raised in Ottawa, a husband and father of 3 kids. Positive, upbeat individual who is active in his home church. Drove Sunday school bus for 12 years, and taught Sunday school for 5 years. Very active in the church community as a home friendship group leader and more recently as a coach to other leaders. Tony left the government arena 6 years ago and enjoyed 6 successful years as a Realtor since then. He is also a business coach helping people successfully supplement their income, attaining their financial/business goals. Tony believes in helping those he knows to prosper.
